ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND shareholders in the UK have been included in a lawsuit against the company in the American courts.
Members of the RBS Action Group, who invested in the bank’s £12 billion rights issue last year, have joined the class action which is seeking a payout for US-based investors and pension funds.
Steve Toll, of Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll, a Washington law firm which is representing the investors, confirmed that British shareholders were included in the complaint filed in the Southern District Court of New York. “We have included the UK shareholders who purchased RBS shares in Europe in our class,” he said.
