Publication Paper

In re Publication Paper Antitrust Litigation, Docket No. 3:04 MD 1631 (D. Conn.)

Cohen Milstein is co-chair of the Executive Committee in this case that was brought in 2004 on behalf of direct purchasers of Publication Paper (i.e., Supercalendared Papers and Coated Papers) for alleged violations of the U.S. antitrust laws.  The case was recently consolidated before Judge Underhill (D. Conn.).  Plaintiffs specifically claim that from 1993 to the present the defendant paper manufacturers and their co-conspirators participated in a global conspiracy to suppress competition by fixing the prices of, and allocating the markets and sales volumes for, Publication Paper sold in the United States and elsewhere in violation of Section 1 of the Sherman Act.  Because of defendants' unlawful conduct, plaintiffs paid artificially high prices for Publication Paper and, as a result, have suffered antitrust injury.
