Jon AdamsJon Adams joined Cohen Milstein in 2008 as an Associate in the Securities practice group. He is based in the New York office of the firm. Mr. Adams will be focusing his efforts on derivative and transaction cases. His cases include the CIBC derivative case and Republic Services. He actively investigates and pursues new cases as they arise. Mr. Adams' prior legal experience includes a year running his own law practice in New York and New Mexico, and securities work at Labaton Sucharow & Rudoff LLP, and Kelley Drye & Warren LLP. He also served as an Assistant Attorney General of New Mexico, and a Law Clerk in the Southern District of Indiana for Chief Magistrate John Paul Godich. In 2007, Mr. Adams was honored to be appointed Guardian of the Treasury of New Mexico by Treasurer James B. Lewis. In additional to his legal career, Mr. Adams has served as an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at both the University of New Mexico and Indiana University – Purdue University. Mr. Adams graduated from Columbia University School of Law (J.D) where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Honor Scholar, Executive Editor of the Journal of Environmental Law, and Assistant Editor of the Journal of East European Law. He holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Haverford College. Mr. Adams is admitted to practice in New York, New Mexico, and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
