Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll Appoints High Profile Consumer Lawyer

Top tier US claimant law firm Cohen, Milstein, Hausfeld & Toll has bolstered its European practice with the hire of high profile consumer and competition specialist Ingrid Gubbay, who joins as a consultant.  Formerly Principal Campaigns Lawyer at consumer watchdog Which?, Ingrid broke new ground by leading the first representative action under Which?’s competition powers by seeking compensation from JJB Sports for customers who purchased over-priced replica football shirts, for which she won third place in the ‘In House Lawyer of the Year’ category at The Lawyer’s 2007 awards.

Ingrid also has extensive experience bringing consumer lawsuits in Australia, where she led complex actions against insurers and finance companies.  She has taught international human rights law in the UK, and is currently playing an active role in the debate surrounding an improved legal framework for effective collective actions across Europe.

At Cohen Milstein Ingrid will work with partners Rob Murray, Vincent Smith and Anthony Maton on collective redress actions in the field of competition law.
